Orienteering

What makes orienteering so special?
I love orienteering since I get to spend time in the forest and as I’ve gotten older I’ve also learned to appreciate the competition part of it. To be able to run at maximum speed through the forest, knowing exactly where you are and where you are going is the beauty of the sport. I love the challenge of trying to maximize my body’s physical potential while staying mentally focused and being able to make quick and accurate decisions in every situation.

In 2016 we saw you run the European Championships. How did it feel to run your first international championship as a senior?
The atmosphere in the Swedish team, as well as out on the competitions, was just amazing! I ran all the forest races and gained a lot of new experiences from the Championships’ courses which had quite a new type of terrain for me. The Long Distance was especially tough, both physically and mentally, with steep hills and difficult route choices. I learned a lot from the qualification races and did a solid run in the final.

What is your main goal in orienteering?
My biggest dream is to take a gold medal at the World Orienteering Championships, but I’m in no hurry because the road to get there is just so amazingly fun and I’m enjoying every part of it.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] [zpcat] [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1504774392966{margin-right: 8px !important;margin-left: 8px !important;}”]
